Tour overview
Four hours on foot, mixing street level with a rooftop-height finish. The walk starts on Las Ramblas, passing La Boqueria market and the Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house, then continues into El Raval to Gaudí's Palau Güell, before the funicular and cable car, both included round trip, carry you up Montjuïc hill to the castle.
From the castle tower it's a full 360° view: the old town laid out below, the harbor, and the Mediterranean stretching past it, seen from one of the highest public spots in the city, before the cable car brings you back down.
The itinerary

Las Ramblas
The tour opens on Barcelona's most iconic boulevard before heading into the surrounding old town.
La Boqueria Market
A brief stop at the entrance of Barcelona's most famous food market as you pass by.
Gran Teatre del Liceu
One of Europe's great opera houses, its ornate facade a landmark on La Rambla.
Palau Güell
An early Gaudí commission tucked into a narrow street just off Las Ramblas, unmistakably his even before his more famous later work.
El Raval
A walk through El Raval shows a grittier, more mixed side of the old town than the polished Gothic Quarter.
Montjuïc Funicular
The funicular carries you up the hillside, the first leg of the climb to the castle.
Montjuïc Cable Car
From the funicular's top station, the cable car takes you higher still, with the city and harbor opening up below.
Montjuïc Castle
A former military fortress at the summit, now open to the public with sweeping views over Barcelona and the Mediterranean.
Castle tower, 360° views
The climb to the tower rewards you with a full circle of views: city, sea and mountains in one turn.
Cable car back down
The tour closes with the cable car ride back down to the old town.

Is the cable car ride included, or do I need a separate ticket?
Both the funicular and cable car are already included in the price: your guide handles the tickets, you just ride.
How high up is Montjuïc Castle, and is it a difficult climb?
The funicular and cable car do almost all of the climbing for you, so the walking involved is minimal even though the castle sits well above the city.
Are the views from the castle worth it even on a cloudy day?
Barcelona's harbor and rooftops are still striking from Montjuïc even under cloud, though a clear day does add the Mediterranean's blue to the panorama.
Can I skip the funicular and just walk up to save time?
The tour is built around the cable car and funicular experience itself, so the group rides together rather than splitting up on the way up.
